He has opened for many national acts, including the Plain White T's - whose hit song 'Hey There Delilah' helped bring acoustic pop-rock back into the mainstream.
With influences ranging from: 90's rock acts such as Sister Hazel and Toad The Wet Sprocket, recent acoustic-rock mainstays such as Jack Johnson and Donavon Frankenreiter, and timeless rockers from John Hiatt to Tom Petty - Colburn's songwriting process is grounded in soaring melodies and memorable hooks, giving his music a cross-genre appeal.
"Literal Fiction," Colburn's debut solo effort, offers a unique blend of those influences, making for an original sound that's sure to please fans of all genres.
"Time Marches On," Colburn's 2nd CD includes 11 tracks. Highlights include: 'Something Like That,' a mainstay of Colburn's live performances; a reworking of The Cars' hit single 'You Might Think' (Physical CD Only); an acoustic version of 'Sometime, Someway,' a track selected by member's of Colburn's mailing list; 'Promises' a bluesgrass track featuring Doug Phelps on Mandolin and Bob Spear on Jaw Harp; and the disc's title cut, an alternative rocker featuring DC Slater on lead guitar.
Brian Colburn's songs can be easily summed up through his own lyrics in 'Rewind': "Just sit back, relax, and let the music be your friend." |
